There were more than 21,000 thousand tweets about Tralee's very own lovely girls festival last night. 

The traffic peaked at 434 tweets per minute after the live proposal that has since gone viraltotalling 21,424 tweets as the programme aired on RTÉ One

The stats, compiled by Irish-owned social media monitoring and analysis company Olytico, found that the most mentioned words were "proposal" and "beard", the latter referring to host Dáithí Ó Sé's controversial decision to sport a beard:

More popular words tweeted while the event aired include "girls" and "lovely".

Other peaks were caused when the program began (220 tweets per minute), Philadephia Rose Brittany Killion's performance of "Part of your World" from Disney’s The Little Mermaid and when Darwin Rose Bridget Haines recited a bedtime story called "The Cranky Bear".
