John Giles has this evening had his say on Jack Grealish and his nationality conundrum. The Aston Villa winger has played for Ireland throughout youth levels but has not yet confirmed if his senior international career will be spent in the green jersey. Martin O'Neill today named his provisional squad for the September matches against Oman and Georgia which did not contain the name of the Birmingham-born 18 year-old.

Speaking to Adrian Barry on Off the Ball tonight, Giles voiced his opinion that, despite Grealish's youth, a decision needs to be made on his allegiance sooner rather than later:

"I think the lad is entitled to what he thinks is best for himself. I think he’s very, very young. I haven’t seen him play, Adrian, but obviously Roy Keane has moved to Villa so he’d know him very, very well but apparently he’s a very, very good player so, you know, we need all the good players we can get. But it’s time for him to make his mind up."
