So Ryan Giggs made a good start to his new role as Manchester United manager with a 4 - 0 win at home to Norwich.

We were joined by The Guardian's Daniel Harris to discuss this new mini-era and he noted a few early differences between Giggs and Moyes' approaches.

"There was one moment just before the second goal and it's so bizarre that I'm even noting this...what happened was Kagawa moved inside, Rooney went to the left and I was watching, thinking 'Ah! An interchange'. Because under Moyes that kind of thing didn't happen - even of that very basic sort."

Harris thought dropping Juan Mata was "odd" but felt that Giggs went for players that he knew  such as the Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic centre-back partnership.

It has been reported that his first team-talk was "spine-tingling" with claims that he can be the "new Guardiola".

But Harris cannot see the Glazers giving Giggs the job this summer.

"Giggs is cheap in the first instance like Moyes. They've been burned in the first place and they can't again have a situation where, although the supporters would be more patient if it was Giggs, you're stuck with a manager who doesn't quite know what he's doing," said Harris who believes Giggs is "strong" and "thoughtful".

Harris also reminded us that Guardiola had managed the Barcelona B team before taking on the Barca senior job, unlike Giggs who does not have comparable experience.

Harris also discussed the position of the Class of 92 vis a vis the favourite for the job, Louis Van Gaal. Can they co-exist?
