Ireland midfielder Darron Gibson has broken a bone in his foot and is likely to miss the rest of the season.
His club Everton issued the injury update today ahead of their clash with Southampton this afternoon.
A Toffees statement read: "Darron Gibson has suffered a small fracture to the fifth metatarsal of his foot and will miss today's game against Southampton. The midfielder will now be monitored by Everton's medical staff in the coming days and surgery may not be required."

The Derryman joined up with the Ireland squad for last weekend's Euro 2016 qualifier with Poland but didn't make the matchday squad due to a groin complaint.
He will now be a doubt for Ireland's next Group D clash with Scotland on June 13 in Dublin.
