The 34-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during Tuesday's dramatic win over Tottenham.

Scans have shown that he is now set to miss Saturday's FA Cup fifth round tie against Crystal Palace, the Europa League clash with Besiktas and the visit to Southampton.

The Reds are already with fellow midfielder Lucas Leiva for about four weeks.
