It's advantage Galway FC after tonight's first-leg of their First Division promotion play-off against Shelbourne.

The team from the west picked up a 2 - 0 win at home thanks to goals from Ryan Connolly and Gary Shanahan.

Galway will now travel to Tolka Park next week to defend that lead as both sides seek a place in the Promotion/Relegation playoff.
