Galway are through to the Leinster hurling championship final, with a seven point win over Laois in Portlaoise.
Laois battled bravely, and remained in contention right up to the midway point of the second half, but unfortunately came up short, losing 2-17 to 1-13.
The game was a tight affair, with Laois leading at half time and, despite a Galway revival in the second half, a Laois goal with little over 15 minutes left put them ahead.
A late surge from Galway was too much for Laois and saw them gradually stretch their lead out to a 7 point margin.
Elsewhere, Cork are through to the Munster senior football championship final following a 1-20 to 1-11 win over Clare at Cusack Park, Ennis.
