GAA President Aogán O Fearghail has repeated his belief that replays should be scrapped from the All-Ireland championship.

He told the Irish Independent that he is disappointed that Congress didn't agree to the calls for an abolition of the practice, which creates havoc with the GAA calendar every year.

O Fearghail also says he has got no idea why the Ulster semi-final replay between Cavan and Tyrone wasn't held last weekend instead of this Sunday.

"Personally, I was hoping at Congress that we would not have replays. I still believe that would be better," he says.
