New Zealand continue their preparations for tomorrow's World Cup semi final with South Africa as today marks the four year anniversary of the iconic final.

The All Blacks defeated France 8-7 in the game in Auckland to win the title for the first time since 1987. It was the lowest scoring final in World Cup history but one of the most intense as the All Blacks dealt with the pressure of a nation. 

The final half hour of the final remained scoreless after New Zealand led 8-0 at half time. Substitute fly half Stephen Donald who eventually scored the winning points only joined the squad during the knockout stages. Donald's only World Cup appearance came in the final as he wrote his name into rugby's history books.

Depsite losing to the All Blacks by 20 points in the pool stages, France almost won the game. Their captain Thierry Dusautoir was named man of the match for an outstanding performance. The flanker scored France's only try of the game in the early stages of the second half.

As New Zealand ended the long wait to win the Webb Ellis Cup they have been outstanding in this tournament and remain favourites to win the trophy ahead of this weekends semi finals.
