Four Chelsea fans have been given suspended prison terms over a racist incident on the Paris Metro.
The incident occurred almost two years ago in which a black man was pushed off a train before a Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain in February 2015.
The four football supporters have also been given suspended jail terms by the French court and have also been told to pay €10,000 to Souleymane Sylla, the man who was pushed off the train.
Two of the defendants attended the trial at Paris' Palais de Justice, while the remaining two were tried in absentia.
Footage of the 2015 incident showed Sylla being pushed off the metro train at the platform of the Richelieu-Drouot station amid chants of "We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it."
According to AFP, one of the four men, Joshua Parsons (22), told the court that he had not chanted and denied that the incident was racist, saying: "I’m very sorry for Mr Sylla but I wasn’t racist in any way."
