FIFA vice-president Jim Boyce says European countries are in agreement that the 2022 World Cup cannot be played in Qatar in the summer.

A meeting of 54 UEFA nations has been taking place in Croatia.

Boyce says those countries do not yet want FIFA to make a decision on exactly when in the year the tournament would be played, though.

FIFA's executive committee is expected to agree in principle to moving the event to the winter at its meeting next month.

Both UEFA and the Premier league favour January over November and December as it would not clash with the festive period games or the Champions league.
