Aston Villa's unbeaten start to the Premier League season has come to an end, while Arsenal’s maligned stars have made an impressive statement.

New Gunner Danny Welbeck got his first goal for the club, while Mesut Ozil also grabbed one to help Arsene Wenger’s side put their midweek defeat to Borussia Dortmund behind them.

Three goals in three and a half minutes in the first half from Ozil, Welbeck and an Aly Cissokho own goal saw Arsenal come away from Villa Park with a 3-0 win.

Papiss Cissé saved Alan Pardew further humiliation at St. James's Park.

Introduced as a second half substitute, the Ivorian scored twice to rescue a 2-2 draw for Newcastle at home to Hull, having trailed 2-0.

Hull had taken the lead with a spectacular scissors kick from Nikica Jelavic in the 48th minute. The lead was doubled when Mohamed Diame scored an equally impressive strike from 25 yards out.

Cisse pulled one back with 15 minutes to go, scoring a powerful shot at the near post.

With 87 minutes gone Cisse smashed the ball home from six yards.

The point lifts Newscastle from the bottom of the Premier League table.

Southampton took a 1-0 win from the Liberty Stadium, with an 80th minute goal from Victor Wanyama putting the Saints ahead. Swansea had been reduced to 10 men since the 39th minute when Wilfred Bony was sent off for a second bookable offence.
