Eddie O’Sullivan believes Andrew Trimble is the most likely of tonight’s Irish Wolfhounds to break into Declan Kidney’s Six Nations team, and there may be a few other new faces coming into the Ireland set up if the opportunity presents itself.

The Irish Wolfhounds take on The England Saxons tonight at The Sportsground in Galway with many players looking at the game as their chance to make an impression on Declan Kidney before the commencement of the six nations next weekend, when Ireland take on wales in Cardiff.

Newstalk Breakfast’s Oisin Langan spoke with O’Sullivan this morning and asked the former Ireland coach who we should keep an eye on tonight.

O’Sullivan believes that “overall I think it’s pretty much a development team” that will allow us to see the next generation of young players coming through. There were, however, one or two players who O’Sullivan can see having the chance to make a late play to work their way into Kidney’s plans.

Andrew Trimble plays tonight and O’Sullivan sees the Ulster man as the most likely to work his way into the Six Nations side, with the vacancy left my Tommy Bowe’s absence representing an opportunity for the winger – and one that he has to grab tonight.

Other names O’Sullivan discussed were Connacht’s full back Robbie Henshaw, Munster Prop Dave Kilcoyne and Ulster scrumhalf Paul Marshall.
