Two weeks after winning his maiden major title, Dustin Johnson has made it back-to-back triumphs after winning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio.

Johnson, who with the win, becomes the World's number two, finished one shot clear of Scott Piercy on -6. Overnight leader Jason Day finished three shots back on -3.

Johnson recorded three birdies on each of the front and back nines, dropping only two shots. He had the luxury of bogeying the 18th hole too as his rivals faltered on the back-nine at Firestone GC.

Jason Day struggled down the final stretch. The World number one, who was previously unbeaten on the PGA Tour, when leading after the third round. Two bogeys and a double-bogey on the final four holes, dropped Day into a tie for fourth place.

Johnson claims his recent upsurge in for has been down to performing better on the greens. "I feel like my game is where it has been all year. I just haven't been putting quite as well as I'd like. The last couple of weeks, I just putted a little better."

2015 champion Shane Lowry shot his only under-par round of the week during the final round. The Offaly native finished 12 shots behind Johnson in a tie for 36th place on +6.
