SSE Airtricity League leaders Dundalk were held to a 0 - 0 draw by Shamrock Rovers at Oriel Park.
The Louth side were looking to pull three points clear of Cork City at the top but had to settle for a single point.
Rovers had the best chance of the game when Ryan Brennan blazed a penalty over the bar after Karl Sheppard was fouled.

But the Tallaght side also had a man sent off towards the end with Patrick Cregg getting his marching orders following a second yellow card.
