The draw for Dundalk has allowed Cork City to shrink the gap at the top of the table back down to eight points after Billy Dennehy's goal as enough for the Leesiders to score a 1-0 win over Galway United at Turners Cross.
Also in the top-flight, 10-man Derry City held-out for a 1-0 win over their hosts St Pat's at Richmond Park and Limerick FC upset their hosts Drogheda United with a 4-1 win at United Park.
In the First Division, Wexford Youths remain top of the table after a 3-2 win over Waterford United in their south-east derby at the RSC.
UCD were beaten 2-1 by Shelbourne at Tolka Park, which has allowed Finn Harps to regain second place after they were 3-2 winners over Cabinteely at Stradbrook.
