A fleet of nine luxury cars intended for use on the next James Bond film ‘Spectre’ have been stolen from a garage in Germany.

The vehicles, specially customised for the British spy movie, included five Range Rovers and are valued at €800,000. The fleet was set to appear in a sequence shot in the Alps.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Land Rover said: "We are aware of the theft of a number of Range Rovers in Dusseldorf, Germany. This is a criminal act and the police are carrying out a full investigation."

Last week, details of the 24th Bond film were released at a press conference at Pinewood Studios, where the films have traditionally been made when not on location. Along with the title of the film, Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes also announced the supporting cast, including Irish actor Andrew Scott.

Actor Daniel Craig, starring as 007 for the fourth time, described the Spectre script as even better than that of the blockbusting Skyfall, which grossed more an $1bn dollars in 2012 and won an Oscar for Adele’s theme song.

Spectre is scheduled for release worldwide on November 6, 2015.
