Michael Kelly was the hero this afternoon in Croke Park, his last-gasp effort lead Roscommon to the Nick Rackard Cup for the second time.

With just minutes remaining in the match and Roscommon trailing by two points, Kelly stepped up to fire past Simon Doherty.

Justin Campbell’s side had been reduced to 14 men when substitute Cathal Kelly saw red with a little over ten minutes remaining but they stuck at their task and got their just rewards to lift the trophy for the first time since 2007.

Antrim lead at the break and pulled five points clear after the break, looking certain to secure a third a third title.

Roscommon, to their credit, never let their heads drop and their diligence paid off when John Morn and Jionni Coyne reduced the deficit before Kelly’s rounded off an astounding comeback.
