"CLG Dhún na nGall were informed this morning by Senior Football Team Manager, Jim McGuinness of his intention to make changes in his management & support team. He subsequently confirmed that Rory Gallagher & Maxi Curran will not be involved in the Donegal management team for the 2014 season. Francie Friel, who was involved in the backroom team, will also not be involved in 2014."

So in the statement above Donegal county board say they were informed yesterday morning by manager Jim Mc Guinness that he wished to make changes to his management team.

Shock greeted the news yesterday that the backroom team of Rory Gallagher, Maxi Curran and Francie Friel who were all expected to stay on were leaving.

Gallagher has already been linked with the vacant positions in Sligo and Fermanagh but it's unclear whether or not he wants to stay in inter county management at this time.

Given the heights they've reached and what McGuinness expects it;'s not going to be easy to find replacements.

Meanwhile

Dublin management say they have no injury worries ahead of Sundays All Ireland final against Mayo.

There had been concerns about goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton who has been managing a hamstring injury all season but according to the Star newspaper he will play.
