If Manchester United want to see Angel Di Maria at Old Trafford this season they may have to pay a British transfer fee record of €94m.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti said today that Di Maria said goodbye to his team-mates today, ahead of an inevitable transfer, according to the BBC.

While United officials don’t expect the final fee to be €94m, they do admit that it will still be above the €63m paid by Chelsea for Fernando Torres.

"Di Maria has not trained with us today and he came in to say goodbye to the players and people at the club," said Ancelotti on Sunday.

"There is nothing official yet but it is being sorted out. The decision is his and the club has done what it could to keep him here."

Di Maria would be United’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo. The previous three singings have already cost United €90m.
