Derry City youngster Michael Duffy is to go on trial with Glasgow Celtic.
The Derry Journal reports that the midfielder will join the Scottish champions next week, with the hopes of impressing and securing a permanent move.
Duffy scored 16 goals in 39 appearances last season for the Candystripes and the Northern Ireland under 21 international recently signed a two year extension with the club. This would provide some solace for Derry boss Peter Hutton, as a transfer fee would have to be paid, but the loss of Duffy would still be a significant blow as Barry McNamee, Barry Molloy and Stephen Dooley are all still undecided on if they will continue at the Brandywell next year, while Danny Ventre and Ciaran Gallagher have already departed.
