Ajax manager Frank De Boer has confirmed that Tottenham have made an approach for his services.

The former Ajax, Holland and Barcelona defender has led Ajax to four consecutive league titles and is one of the most sought-after young coaches in Europe.

He revealed that former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars had informed him of Spurs' interest but will carefully consider his options before making his next move.

Speaking to Dutch broadcaster NOS, he said: "I'm going to listen and talk. Then I'll make my feelings known. I want to add something to a club, so that people can say that they see the hand of Frank de Boer. Liverpool are a good example of this with Brendan Rodgers."
