Chelsea will be without David Luiz for tomorrow's Champions League clash against FC Basle.

The Brazilian defender has been left in London with a knee problem, although his absence is likely to increase speculation that he will be allowed to leave during the January transfer window.

Luiz was benched for the 2 - 2 draw with West Brom, following the Blues' disastrous defeat to Newcastle.

He also failed to start Chelsea's last two Champions League matches, spending the home win over Schalke on the bench.

But the Blues have been boosted by the presence of Fernando Torres in their travelling squad after he recovered from an abductor problem.
