Kenny Cunningham says he would not call up Jack Grealish for Ireland again.

The much-talked about Aston Villa midfielder turned down the chance to join Martin O'Neill's squad for upcoming games, as confirmed by the manager, and Kenny told Off The Ball that it is best to move on without the 19-year-old on a point of principle.

"I wouldn't call him up again," said Kenny. "This lad's 19. You make a decision to play for your country with your heart, you don't make it with your head. You don't need nine or ten months to mull over every potential permutation and the advantages and disadvantages of the choice that you make. It's not a decision based on logic. It's a decision you make with every sinew in your body and heart. This lad's been in the system for four and five years. He should know!"

Kenny also suggested that current Ireland players will not be happy about Grealish's stance.

"I'm sure this will be grating a little, seeing the attitude of Jack and you have to consider the dynamic within the dressing room," he said.
