Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been charged by The Football Association with violent conduct.

It is in relation to an alleged stamp on Liverpool's Emre Can during last night's League Cup semi-final second leg.

The incident was not see by the match officials but was caught on camera.

However the Brazilian-born Spain international will not face any action regarding an incident involving Martin Skrtel later in the match.

The Brazilian has until Thursday to respond to the charge.
