George North's availability for the first Lions test against Australia is a huge boost according to Reggie Corrigan.
Speaking to Newstalk Breakfast's Oisin Langan, the ex-Ireland and Leinster man felt the Welsh winger's availability will help minimize the effects of the injury crisis that has struck the Lions backline.
"It's huge at this stage considering the injuries they have racked up. It's unusual on tour that most of the injuries are happening to the backs when it's normally the forwards that pick them up. George North being available is obviously huge and a bonus for the Lions," said Reggie.
The Lions lost to Brumbies yesterday and Reggie believes the result will have a bearing on Australia's thinking.
"I think it is very relevant. You have to look at the way [Brumbies coach] Jake White set things up. If you look at the breakdown area for example, Gatland himself admitted that they were lacking in that area. The Brumbies were all over them so the Australians will see that as a real target area."
