26 year old Orla Barry has won a bronze medal this morning at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha.

The Cork athlete recorded a seasons best throw of 29.82 metres in the Women's Discus Throw F57 Final. It is Barry's second World Championships in a row to win a medal after finishing second in the same event in France two years ago.

It was a successful day for Irish athletes, with Deirdre Mongan finishing fifth in the Women's Shot Put F53 Final. Mongan's best throw was 4.02 metres.
