Cork City have taken the lead in the SSE Airtricity League title race after title rivals Dundalk dropped two points at Bray Wanderers.

Cork's 1 - 0 win at home to nine-man Bohemians courtesy of a Billy Dennehy goal means they lead Dundalk by one point ahead of a final day title decider at Oriel Park.

Dundalk battled to a 1 - 1 draw at Bray Wanderers in difficult conditions at the Carlisle Grounds with Pat Hoban's second half equaliser cancelling out the 2nd minute opener from the Seasider's David Cassidy.

UCD and Athlone Town both picked up crucial 1 - 0 and 2 - 0 wins at Derry City and St Pats respectively in the battle to avoid the automatic relegation place.

The results mean UCD lead Athlone by a point heading into the final round of fixtures.

Fourth-placed Shamrock Rovers took a 2 - 0 win at Drogheda United thanks to goals from Ciaran Kilduff and Sean O'Connor, while Rory Gaffney's 52nd minute goal gave Limerick a 1 - 0 win at home to Sligo Rovers in their mid-table match-up.
