Cork City have accepted an offer for highly-rated full-back Brian Lenihan.

The 20-year-old has been the subject of interest from Premier League and Championship clubs and it appears that he will be departing cross-channel soon.

In a statement Cork City said:

"Cork City Football Club can confirm that the club has received an offer for our player, Brian Lenihan, which has been accepted. The club will not be making any further comment on the matter at this time, and the focus of our management and players is fully on Friday night’s FAI Ford Cup tie against Bohemians at Turner’s Cross."

Lenihan suffered a recent injury scare after falling awkwardly in a match against Bohemians. However, he was discharged with concussion.
