In many ways being the manager of a county under 21 side is the hardest game in the world to quote a former Fast Show character.

In football and hurling it remains the only straight knock out Championship with no back door, it was a trap door for the Rebels in Thurles last night as for the second year in a row they went down to Tipperary.

5-19 to 2-13 the final score, that despite Cork getting what was at one stage 10 point lead down to a one point lead early in the second half.

After the game I spoke to Cork manager Ger Fitzgerald who admitted he didn't know what wrong for his side.
