Jimmy Barry Murphy has put an end to speculation over his future as Cork manager by sealing a deal to stay with the county.
The Cork County Board have confirmed that JBM has agreed a two-year extension of his current term to remain in charge of their senior hurlers.
His three-year term officially ended after this year's heavy All-Ireland semi-final loss to Tipperary, which had raised speculation that he was preparing to step down.
That was speculation that was rejected by County Board chairman Bob Ryan in this morning's Irish Examiner.
And any concerns were firmly put to rest this evening when the county board confirmed a new two-year deal.
