Conor McGregor's UFC202 victory over Nate Diaz was certainly a bruising encounter for both men as they went the distance.

But the Dubliner may have to pay a price in terms of the time he needs to spend away from the Octagon in order to allow UFC202 injuries to clear up. After every bout, every MMA fighter is assessed by medics to ascertain when it is safe for them to return.

According to MMAJunkie, it has been deemed that McGregor must sit out the next six months due to injuries to his left foot and ankle which were sustained while performing leg kicks on Diaz, who will be sidelined for 30 days due to cuts and bruising.

However, McGregor cited his shins as the issue after the fight.

After the fight, UFC president Dana White told the Irishman to go to hospital, although the fighter responded: "I’ll have a shower, put on a suit, speak to the media and then I’ll go. I’m honestly grand."

Publishing the full list of UFC202 medical suspensions, MMA Junkie say of McGregor that he needs "left foot/ankle cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until Dec. 17; minimum suspension until Oct. 20 with no contact in training until Oct. 5."
