It has been confirmed that Paddy Barnes will continue his journey through the professional ranks on February 18th, as part of the fight card which will be headlined by Jamie Conlan.

No opponent has yet been confirmed for the bout where Barnes will be hoping to record a second successive win, after triumphing against Stefan Slavchev in bizarre circumstances at the Titanic Exhibition Centre last November.

The former Olympian was well on his way to winning the fight on his own terms, when the Bulgarian opponent initiated a move in the fourth round that was both unusual and highly illegal. Slavchev hoisted Barnes up over his shoulder, immediately prompting the commentators to call for his disqualification.

The referee stepped in to end the fight and award the victory to Barnes, who later vented his outrage at how the fight came to an unsatisfying conclusion in front of a home crowd.

Barnes will get another opportunity to wow the home fans in the February 18th fixture, which is set for the Belfast Waterfront Hall. Along with Conlan and Barnes, Steven Ward and featherweight Marco McCullough will also feature on the card.
