The Irish actor has a troubled past and checked into rehab for an addiction to painkillers, alcohol and recreational drugs in 2005.

He's now sober and has turned his life around by adopting a different attitude in the way he sees the world.

"For example, I try and hand out compliments to others, I give kind people a kiss and laugh more often, rather than going out of my mind with worrying," he revealed to German magazine Freundin.

When Colin first hit Hollywood he got swept up in the celebrity lifestyle, often enjoying big nights out with other A-listers.

These days the 37-year-old is far more chilled out and tries to fit in a yoga session every day.

"I used to be a lot more driven; these days I just do my best to be a happy person," he smiled.

"Partying through the night, alcohol, drugs? None of that interests me anymore."

The actor isn't the only star to enjoy yoga, with others such as Russell Brand and Gwyneth Paltrow also swearing by the relaxing workout.

Colin has previously opened up about why he loves the activity so much.

“It’s fun. [I] do it every day, as much as I can,” he told Access Hollywood.

“I love being in a class with students – 30 or 40 people all moving in unison. It’s very easy to live where you remain in your head… and you’re concerned about various things and constantly contemplating and so on and so forth, so it takes you out of your head for a while and just puts you back into your body.”
