The upcoming Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice might be the most anticipated Batman tale in the works, but a new TV series called Gotham is looking like it will offer a very different take on the comic books.
The series, which is set to start in September, will focus on Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) in the days before he was promoted to Commissioner. Yes, the series is a prequel, and will look at the early days of some iconic characters, including The Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman.
Bruce Wayne will also appear (played by David Mazouz), but as a young boy as opposed to a caped crusader. His butler Alfred will also appear, with Sean Pertwee offering a fresh take on the character. Jada Pinkett Smith will also star as a character called Fish Mooney.
