Chelsea have become the first Premier League club to adopt the living wage.
From January, all directly employed staff will be paid the sum as a minimum, which is £9.15 (€11.57) per hour in London and £7.85 (€9.92) elsewhere.
"We believe the move to the Living Wage underlines our commitment to ensuring that all our employees receive a fair rate of pay for their hard work and dedication. Quite simply it is the right thing to do," said Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck.
League Two side Luton have also recently changed their policy to pay at least the living wage to their staff, becoming the first Football League club to implement the policy.
The minimum wage in the UK is £6.50 (€8.22) per hour.
