Leigh Griffiths and Nir Bitton scored as Celtic beat Dundee at Celtic Park yesterday to re-establish their 11 point lead at the top of the table. 

Marcus haber pulled one back for the visitors but they were unable to get a second to claim a point.

Speaking to the club's official website, Griffiths said: “Given our performance in the first-half against Dundee, I think we deserved to go in at half-time in the lead. Ultimately it was the last kick of the half. But over the course of the game we dominated it.

“We had a couple of slack moments in the second-half which could have gifted them a point but I don’t think anybody could argue that we deserved all three points.

“It was the same on Tuesday night against Hamilton. We knew Dundee were going to come with a back five and try to frustrate us, and it was up to us to break them down. In the first-half we had a number of chances – I hit the post and Tom Rogic had a great chance, and then we scored with the free-kick," he added.

Speaking on his battle with Moussa Dembele to get the nod to start up front, the striker said: “I’m in the team to score goals and help the team get three points and if I can keep doing that I’ll be happy to stay in the team.

“It’s up to Moussa to try and shift me now. That’s my goal. I was unlucky to get injured at the start of the season and Moussa’s come in and taken his chance," he added.
