Scottish champions Celtic have extended their unbeaten domestic run with a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

Goals from Stuart Armstrong, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest were enough to give Brendan Rodgers' side their 29th league win of the season and moved them on to 90 points with six games remaining.

Speaking to the club's official website after the match, the Celtic manager said: "It was a great day for us. It’s been a fantastic week. We won the league and I have committed the next four years of my life to here. It’s an incredible club to work for, but there is much more to do and achieve.

“I really enjoyed watching the team today. I thought, collectively, they were outstanding and played the shape really well. The crowd enjoyed it and they really understand now what we are doing.

“When you are playing against a team that sits in a real low block, it’s very tough, especially at the beginning, to break down. But we showed patience and quality and worked the ball well in tight spaces and then we got the goal.

“Our only disappointment was defending the counter-attack and the goal we conceded, we could have been better but in the main, we had everything I would want from a team, with our counter-pressing and playing with that lovely arrogance and charisma in the game.

"We always looked exciting and if we could score goals, while we also defended in the main very well. It was a great day all round, a good three points and I’m happy,” he added.
