Sean Cavanagh played a full match for Tyrone against Monaghan on Saturday night despite suffering what Red Hand manager Mickey Harte described as a "slight, mild concussion".

GAA protocols state that 'any player suspected of having sustained a concussion, should be removed immediately from the field and should not return to play on the same day'.

Cavanagh is reported to have suffered the bang to his head 15 minutes into Tyrone's Allianz NFL Division One tie at Healy Park.

“For a while there we didn’t know if he would have to come off or not because he had a slight, mild concussion with a bang above the eye,” Harte told the Irish Examiner

The Moy man, lining out at full-forward, was clearly holding his head after falling to the ground and received treatment for several minutes before the action restarted.
