New Zealand's Dan Carter is likely to become the highest paid player in rugby union - after announcing he's joining Racing Metro next year.

The number 10's international career will come to an end after the World Cup when he moves to France to effectively replace Ireland’s Jonathan Sexton in Paris - because the All Blacks don't pick players who are at overseas clubs.

It's reported Carter could earn approximately €1.5M a season.

He says it'll be "emotional" not playing for his country anymore.
