The Argentine star will move to China for a fee of $11 million, signing a two-year deal with the Super League side.

Gus Poyet, who manages the Shanghai side, had targeted the Argentine striker as a priority signing in the transfer window to help them improve on their fourth place finish last term, and, in a statement released on Thursday morning, they said:
"We hope that Tévez can help Shenhua win in our Chinese Super League and Asian Champions League games, as well as offering more exciting matches to fans."

The move makes Tévez the highest paid player in world football, as he is set to earn €40 million a season for the duration of his contract.
In a statement on their website, Boca Juniors said that Tévez thanked the club for finding a solution that was of benefit to both parties, while they also wished him the best in his spell in China.
"Good luck Carlitos! You will always be in our hearts," read the statement. "From tomorrow, xeneize fans will start to dream of your return, and on behalf of Boca we will work hard to help to make that happen. Whatever effort we expend will be negligible if we get to see you wearing our jersey once again."
Tévez becomes the second high-profile player to make the move to China in this transfer window, after Oscar completed his move to the CSL earlier this month.
