Dublin All Stars Alan and Bernard Brogan have teamed up with their father Bernard Brogan Sr to take control of the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

They are reported to have paid close to €8m for the four-star hotel which originally opened in 2007 according to the Irish Independent. It has been on the market since last January.

The business is understood to be profitable, its operations will continue as normal and existing bookings are unaffected.

The Pillo can house up to 550 guests and has a bar, restaurant, and a fitness centre which includes a gym, pool, sauna and a hydrotherapy area.

It is understood that the Brogans also previously took control of the Dundrum House resort and golf course in Co Tipperary in a deal worth €3m.

Bernard Sr is also part of a consortium who bought the Setanta House Hotel in Celbridge, Co Kildare three years ago.

Alan Brogan works for the communications consultancy firm Custodian, while Bernard is registered as a director of eight companies.
