Fionnuala Britton finished third in her heat to book a place in the women's 3,000 metres final at the European Indoor Championships in Sweden.

The double European Cross Country champion came home in a time of 9m03.03s.

Amy Foster advanced to the semi finals of the 60 metres after a fifth place finish in her heat but went through as a fastest loser.
