Kilkenny enjoyed a second consecutive league victory with a close fought 3-10 to 1-15 win over Clare at Cusack Park in Ennis, yesterday.
While the win pus Brain Cody’s men in the frame for a semi-final spot it didn’t come without raising concerns over their defence.
Clare struck a large number of wides and with more clinical finishing could have consigned the All Ireland champions to a third defeat from four games.
Kilkenny centre back Brian Hogan admitted after the game the Kilkenny defensive unit was still developing, with players such as Paddy Hogan (pictured) and Conor Fogarty coming into the back line, but ultimately it wasn’t the finer points that they wanted from this stage of the year, but “what you want to be looking at is the attitude.”
Hogan was speaking to Newstalk’s Oisín Langan after the game and you can listen to the entire interview via the player below
