It's fair to say Bob Bradley's brief time with Swansea City did not go too well.

The first American to take charge of a Premier League club lasted just 11 games after he replaced Francesco Guidolin in October.

Those 11 matches yielded just two wins before he was sacked at the end of December and subsequently succeeded by Paul Clement.

Rumours swirled that Bradley was nicknamed "Ronald Reagan" by the playing staff behind his back.

That connection supposedly made by the players with the former US president was purportedly due to Bradley's old fashioned style of management that was linked to the 1980s when Reagan presided over the United States for two four year terms from January 1981.

But in an interview with The Times, Bradley offered a dose of humour to puncture that story before it grew any legs.

"Trust me on this, not one of those players knows who Ronald Reagan is," he said.

And as a word of warning for Swansea who are struggling to avoid relegation this season, Bradley questioned the quality of the players that Clement will have at his disposal.

"There is a real trust issue between the supporters and the people involved in the change of ownership," he commented.

"That has to improve. The other aspect is the team. When you take over a team and you're in that part of the table - just like when I took over from Francesco - it's for a reason. The reason is that the team needs to be improved."
