David Beckham is backing his former Real Madrid team-mate Luis Figo's bid to replace Sepp Blatter as the president of world football's governing body.

The Portugal legend, who was also part of the infamous Galactico team, is the only ex-player standing in May's FIFA election.

Beckham says any successful organisation needs "good people who are passionate about the game".

Speaking ahead of the official launch of Figo's manifesto, Beckham said: "I welcome the candidacy of my friend Luis for FIFA president."
