It has been a disappointing day so far for the Irish athletes at the IAAF World Indoor Track and Field Championships in Poland.
Mark English was the best performer so far, but he failed to qualify out of his 800m heat after finishing in fourth place, just outside the time for the fastest loser.
David McCarthy is out of the 1500 metres, after coming sixth in the heats, while Rose-Anne Galligan and Ciara Everard are also out of the women's 800m, after coming fifth and sixth respectively in their heats.
