Charlie Austin marked his 200th professional appearance with two goals as his QPR side defeated Aston Villa at Loftus Road.
The result lifts Harry Redknapp's side off the bottom of the table but means Villa have now lost five in a row in the league.
Austin opened the scoring just after the quarter hour with a brilliant half-volley from the edge of the box after good work from Bobby Zamora.
Austin made sure of the three points with 21 minutes to go when he converted an Eduardo Vargas cross from the right flank.
The win is a boost for QPR who showed fledgling signs of form during last Sunday's 3 - 2 defeat to Liverpool.
