A statement from the Donegal county board late last night confirmed that it was Jim Mc Guinness who made the decision to cut his backroom team of Rory Gallagher, Maxi Curran and Francie Friel. Up to that point most assumed the statement which was due around 3 o'clock but didn’t arrive until near midnight would confirm the trio were leaving because of the usual mix of personal reasons and to concentrate on their careers.

That however is not the case and now just days after publically appearing together Jims broken up the band but why? to finds out more I spoke to Donegal News sports reporter Chris McNulty  who has been closest to story as it has developed.
