Torrance was a winning Captain in 2002 at the Belfry while Smyth previously served as a Vice Captain at the K Club in 2006.

McGinley says he will make no further appointments until after the team is finalised. Holders Europe host the United States at Gleneagles in September.

McGinley took to the stage in Dublin today with both Torrance and Smyth and all three men spoke about their involvement.
